Voice of the Rome Emperors
In February 2023, Larry auditioned for the job of Atlanta Braves PA Announcer, along with over 500 other applicants. He made the final 10, then the final 3, and was an overwhelming fan favorite…receiving 60% of the fan voting on Twitter. Ultimately, he was not chosen, but his talent was exposed to the world! Both the Rome Emperors and BallparkDJ noticed and acted. In March 2023, Larry became the 8th member of the talented BallparkDJ team of announcers and he can be heard at YOUR park this season!!
Larry has served as a Sportscaster, Play-By-Play Announcer, Color Commentator, Podcaster, and Voice-over Artist. He is the voice of Georgia Tech Softball, he also serves as a voice for other sports within Georgia Tech athletics as well. He serves as a voice of Kennesaw State Athletics, Berry College Athletics and Clark Atlanta Athletics. He also serves as a backup announcer for LOVB Women’s Professional Volleyball. He is a co-host of ATL Prime Sports which features college sports from the southeastern US. He is the owner of Gardner Broadcasting Company, LLC, and the long-time voice of the Adairsville High School Tigers.
After a successful first season with the Rome Braves in 2023, this Atlanta Braves affiliate changed their name to the Rome Emperors. So in 2026, Larry will be gracing the mic at AdventHealth Stadium for the Emperors. This is his 4th year with the organization.
