Key Events

Key Event teams are special teams produced from SuperVoice gold teams thru Actions > Duplicate Team. These Key Events are a gamechanger for announcing events such as goal for hockey, or touchdown for football. Key Events are only available on teams that ordered pro-voicing with SuperVoice, and are only available from the Duplicate Team action of the gold SuperVoice team. The Key Event selections will vary depending on sport, but below are some of the options you’ll see along with descriptions.

  • Duplicate Team - will simply make an exact duplicate of your team. It requires some change in either team name or subtitle to differentiate it from the original. Making changes to a duplicate will not impact the original, and making changes to the original will not impact the duplicate.

  • Key Events Team - See the associated screenshot. This is a Key Events team for hockey. It presents all the major events that are typically announced during a hockey game, and presents them in an optimal format. Just setup each players with the teams favorite song, and you’re ready for the game. Power Play announces “Power Play… for the Avalanche… GO Avalanche”. One Minute Remaining announces “One Minute Remaining… GO Avalanche”. Goal + Assist will prompt for both the goal scorer and the assist, and announce “Goal… for the Avalance… Number #7 Ainsley Parker… Assisted by… #17 Zachary Audit… Go Avalanche.” The “for the Avalanche” is optional and only voiced if the “Include Team Name” is checked when selecting goal scorer. One key advantage of this setup is that it allows teams to choose their one song they want to user for those key events, like Goals, and then use that same song for every goal scored, but customized the announcement to credit the goal scorer (and the assist).

  • Any Event Only Team - When this option is selected, the user is presented with the list of events for the sport. For our example, let’s assume the sport is baseball, and the user selects “Stepping to the Plate”. A new team will be created with subtitle “Stepping to the Plate Only” and each player is announced as “Stepping to the Plate… Number 1… Jordan Payne”. No need to select the event each time you tap players name, as you do on the gold team. This essentially locks your gold team down to one specific event, and eliminates the need to select the event each time you tap a player.

  • Now Batting Only Team - This is only available for baseball and softball, and this is a common request from SuperVoice users. This will essentially produce a team just like the “Any Event Only Team” but using Now Batting. As a result, each player will be voiced as “Now Batting… Number 1… Jordan Payne”.

  • Custom Key Events Player - This option will allow you to build a custom player that will be added to the Key Events team. If the Key Events team is not already present, it will be created and this player will be added to it. This can be used to announce the bigger events in each sport like “Touchdown” for football. After choosing the event, the user will be presented with a variety of options including whether to include “for the Team” and “Go Team”, and whether to announcer player number/names. Again, the key value in this setup is that it allows the team to have their one favorite song to play for their big events, like touchdown or goal, and use that song every time that big event occurs, while still customizing the announcement to give credit to the player scored the goal/touchdown.

Instant Music
A new Instant Music option is available as an enhancement to the Dynamic Overlap feature. For Key Events such as “Goal” or “Goal + Assist”, turning on Dynamic Overlap and Instant Music, will result in the music beginning the instant the player is tapped, and while the user completes the process of selecting the goal scorer (and the assister). Once those selections are made, the user will be presented with a PLAY VOICE button which they can process when the time is right. This allows the user to start audio/music instantly when the event/goal happens, while completing the other selections. We recommend setting up the music on such Key Events to a duration of at least 30 to 40 seconds to provide for plenty of runway. It never hurts to choose an extra long duration as the STOP button is always available to STOP and fade-out the playback at the appropriate time.
