It's with a heavy heart that we share some very sad news. Casey Motter passed away in his sleep early on the morning of June 30th. Please say a prayer for his wife Debbie and the rest of his family. Casey was so much more than that booming powerful voice...he was gentle and kind....he was a loving family man...he laughed often and worked hard...he was the best friend you could possibly ask for. We will miss him dearly. Casey has been the public address announcer for the Atlanta Braves since 2007 and was the first voice of BallparkDJ in 2017 and has been a crowd favorite every since. He was the voice that propelled the Braves to a World Championship in 2021 and he was instrumental in making BallparkDJ what is is today. He was quite simply one of the greatest voices to ever grace a microphone. If you were lucky enough to have your team voiced by Casey, play it loud and proud. Casey will be smiling down from heaven. We love you Casey Motter. Rest in peace my friend.

Casey Motter, an avid Braves fan, grew up in Smyrna, Georgia. Casey got his start announcing youth football and baseball games in Peachtree City, Georgia where he would often bring his own sound system and music. Casey’s big break came one November night in 2006 when he caught the attention of Braves assistant general manager Frank Wren. Frank videotaped the youth football game Casey was announcing, focusing on the booth, and turned it into an invitation to try out for the Braves PA spot. Casey made the most of it, ultimately winning the job over a dozen other finalists with professional experience.

In February of 2017, Casey was introduced as the first announcer of BallparkDJ paving the way to deliver his powerful voice to thousands of youth teams all across the country.

In 2021, with Casey in the booth, the Braves won a World Championship and earned Casey his first championship ring. The Braves honored Casey and presented the ring to his family during a home game vs St. Louis on July 4th, four days after his passing. Casey was in his middle of his 17th season with the Braves when he passed away.

Casey and BallparkDJ were featured on forbes.com in May of 2019 in an article titled Voice of the Atlanta Braves Goes Global with BallparkDJ.

In May of 2019, Casey spent 30 minutes with Tony Jones on Talking with Tony. The BallparkDJ discussion begins at the 19:40 mark but the entire interview is very interesting and worth watching. Don’t miss his Tony the Tiger “They’re Great” impression at 16:05. He nails it!

Casey even made his screen debut with an appearance as a public address announcer character on Cartoon Network’s “Squidbillies“ (Season 11, Episode 6).

More Fun facts about Casey (from his wife Debbie):
He loved telling his story of how he became the Braves announcer. He loved using his announcer voice at drive thrus and grocery stores. Even with his deep rich voice, his favorite karaoke song was “Candle in the Wind” by Elton John. His favorite band was KISS. He was full of life. Nothing made him happier than announcing for kids. They would line up at the press box to get a ball signed by him. He always remembered what it felt like to have his name announced as a player when he was a kid, and loved being a part of providing that experience for others.
